Damage matters only while you are alive and able to attack.
Farm is your most repeatable resource
As a bot-lane carry, much of your power comes from items. Last-hitting consistently provides a baseline even in games with few kills.
Keep an eye on recall opportunities and waves. A badly timed return can lose enough gold and experience to offset an early duel.
Track your last-hit count at ten minutes without comparing it to another player.
Your support is a teammate, not a shield
Lane pressure depends on both players' positioning, available crowd control and the size of the minion wave.
Communicate when you want to push, recall or hold position. Avoid starting fights while your support is unable to follow.
Before trading, check where your support is standing.
Stay near safe space in fights
The closest reachable target is often the correct one. Walking past enemy frontliners to attack a carry can expose you to several threats.
Track important engage abilities and choose a position that lets you keep attacking without losing escape routes.
Review one teamfight and mark where you stepped beyond your safe range.
Protect a lead
Farming the next wave and taking a nearby objective can extend your advantage more consistently than a long chase.
A strong ADC who dies before an objective may lose a bigger advantage than a player who takes a conservative position.
After winning a fight, look for an objective before chasing.
